Warner Norcross & Judd represented CMS Enterprises in purchasing Delta Solar, a 24-megawatt, two-part solar power project that will provide energy to power 3,300 homes through a power purchase agreement. The project will consist of two phases and is currently under construction by Vermont-based groSolar, a subsidiary of EDF Renewable Energy. The project is expected to create around 150 construction jobs and is expected to be operational by the summer of 2018.
CMS Energy currently has two solar power plants in Michigan, at Western Michigan University and Grand Valley State University, in addition to the Flambeau Solar plant in Wisconsin. CMS Energy is Michigan’s largest electric and natural gas utility, serving 6.7 million of the state’s 10 million residents.
The Warner Norcross transaction team was led by Greg Schmidt, Jim Rabaut, Melissa Collar and Michael Jones.
