Three partners with Warner Norcross + Judd are taking new leadership roles within the firm.
Dennis J. Donohue was named chair of the Resources, Energy and Environment Group, Matthew D. Johnson was named chair of the Business and Corporate Services Practice Group, and Justin W. Stemple was appointed chair of the Employee Benefits/Executive Compensation Practice Group.
- Donohue focuses his practice on environmental law, including mining and resource development. He has applied his expertise in the National Environmental Policy Act, the Clean Water Act, wetlands and mine permitting to help clients obtain the licenses necessary to develop sustainable resource development projects. He is recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America for environmental, mining and water law and was named the Best Lawyers Grand Rapids Water Law Lawyer of the Year in 2017 and the Best Lawyers Grand Rapids Environmental Law Lawyer of the Year in 2016. - Johnson concentrates his practice on closely held and family-owned businesses with corporate and transactional needs as well as representing clients in private securities offerings. He often advises clients on strategic and long-term planning issues as well as day-to-day operational matters and agreements. He is recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America for corporate law and as a Rising Star by Michigan Super Lawyers. The Business and Corporate Services practice group serves clients in all aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, tender offers, hostile takeovers and going-private transactions. - Stemple focuses his practice on qualified retirement plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans and executive compensation, with an emphasis on employee stock ownership plans, incentive programs and equity compensation.
