Mothering Justice v. Attorney General, a major Michigan Supreme Court decision issued on July 31, reinstated both the Earned Sick Time Act and the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act. The reinstatement of both programs will have a significant and continuing impact on all Michigan employers beginning Feb. 21, 2025.
As a result of the court’s decision, Michigan’s minimum wage will increase, the tipped wage will be eliminated and all employers will be subject to a complicated paid leave mandate.
Warner partners Gaëtan Gerville-Réache and Allyson Terpsma will discuss key provisions of the decision and how Michigan businesses can become compliant with both acts at the Michigan Manufacturers Association’s webinar “Supreme Court Paid Leave Decision & the Impact on Manufacturers.”
