Experienced corporate and compliance attorney Andrea McGrew has joined Warner Norcross + Judd LLP.
McGrew brings nearly two decades of expertise in corporate law to the firm, where she will counsel broker-dealers and registered investment advisers, or RIAs, on compliance matters, corporate creation, contract development and negotiation and related issues. She has extensive experience working with Securities and Exchange Commission regulations as they relate to broker-dealers, RIAs and turnkey asset management platforms, or TAMPs. McGrew is a senior counsel and will be based in the firm’s Grand Rapids office.
Before joining Warner, McGrew was the chief legal officer and chief compliance officer at USA Financial Corp., where she was responsible for all legal and compliance operations across the company and its six subsidiaries. During her nearly two decades with USA Financial, she led the organization through two-dozen successful SEC and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, or FINRA, examinations, as well as countless state examinations.
McGrew is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Association. She is also a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and active with the National Society of Compliance Professionals.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Michigan State University and a law degreefrom the MSU College of Law. She served as a law clerk for the Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation.
A native of Trenton, McGrew now lives in Ada with her husband, Matt, and their three children, Masen, Bennie and Sloane.
