Warner Norcross + Judd LLP is partnering with the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine Innovation Center for a lunch-and-learn series designed to help technology startups be more successful in business.
The lunch-and-learn series will feature three different events throughout 2019 that focus on topics critical for business startups. Warner thought leaders in capital formation, venture capital, intellectual property, labor and employment, executive compensation, tax and other practice areas will lead each session.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with the WMed Innovation Center and build relationships with entrepreneurs in the Kalamazoo community,” said Joscelyn Cekola Boucher, executive partner for Warner’s Kalamazoo office. “WMed Innovation Center is a valuable resource in the Kalamazoo community. We encourage entrepreneurs to come learn from our experienced team as they look to launch their new ventures.”
The three sessions will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the WMed Innovation Center, 4717 Campus Drive, on the following dates:
“These lunch-and-learns give businesses the opportunity to receive education on some important skills that aren’t always well known, such as preserving wealth and preparing for liquidation,” said Sara Nicholson, an estate and tax-planning attorney who specializes in planning with retirement assets for individuals and families. “Our goal is to aid the WMed Innovation Center in its mission to help new and expanding businesses thrive through business coaching and thought leadership.”
The WMed Innovation Center is designed to provide the support necessary for success to technology entrepreneurs in the earliest stages of development. The Innovation Center provides shared working space and thousands of square feet of dedicated laboratory and office space, allowing early stage technology companies to find the right kind of support at the right cost.
Since opening its Kalamazoo office in 2013, Warner has expanded its presence and now has 18 attorneys practicing in the market.
