Susan M. Cook and Rozanne M. Giunta, partners with Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, have been recognized again in Lawdragon’s annual list of 500 Leading U.S. Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers.
Cook and Giunta are featured in the U.S guide, which highlights attorneys who shared “ability to be calm, deliberate and creative while it feels worlds crash around them.” Attorneys are nominated by their colleagues and peers for the honor, then vetted through journalistic research.
Cook has 43 years of experience in the areas of bankruptcy, business reorganization, commercial litigation and business transactions. She has represented distressed businesses of all types, including automotive, healthcare and hospitality, in both bankruptcy and out-of-court reorganizations. She has represented both purchasers and sellers in the sale of businesses, with an emphasis on the purchase and sale of distressed businesses. She regularly represents automotive customers and suppliers in distressed supply chain issues. This is the second time she has received this recognition.
Cook serves on the Stewardship Committee for the Bay Area Community Foundation and on the board of the Bay County Women’s Center. She is also a member of the Federal Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and Bay County Bar Association, where she serves on the executive board. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Bankrupcy.
Giunta has 44 years of experience representing secured creditors, debtors and creditors’ committees and trustees in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings, loan workouts, defense of preference claims, collection suits, foreclosure actions and related matters. Prior to formal filings, she works with businesses to structure transactions designed to anticipate bankruptcy problems. This is the third time she has received this recognition.
Giunta supports the community and her profession through service on a number of boards and committees, including Hidden Harvest, YWCA and the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw. She is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and serves as its Sixth Circuit regent. She also serves on the American College Bankruptcy DEI Committee and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
Both Cook and Giunta have been recognized by Best Lawyers® and Michigan Super Lawyers Magazine since the inception of the award. In addition, Cook was named the Troy 2021 Bankruptcy Litigation Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers while Giunta received the honor in 2018. Giunta was also named Bankruptcy Litigation Lawyer of the Year in 2018 and 2021 by Best Lawyers.
