Warner Norcross + Judd LLP attorney Malaina J. Weldy has been appointed to the board of directors of Affinity Mentoring.
Grand Rapids-based Affinity Mentoring connects children with adults through weekly school-based mentoring sessions to children in the Grand Rapids and Wyoming school districts. Mentors and students develop a partnership and friendship, helping students reach their full potential. Weldy will serve as secretary of the board and work to cultivate relationships between children and trusted adults to support leadership, social-emotional, math and literacy skills.
Weldy is an associate who practices in Warner’s Grand Rapids office and assists businesses on a variety of matters, including corporate governance, securities law compliance and mergers and acquisitions.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business summa cum laude from Goshen College and a master’s degree in business administration magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. She received her law degree summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where she was a managing senior editor of the Notre Dame Law Review.
