James L. Liggins Jr., a senior counsel at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been appointed a State Bar of Michigan commissioner.
The board of commissioners is the governing body of the State Bar charged with promoting the professionalism of lawyers, advocating for an open, fair and accessible justice system and providing services to members that enable them to best serve their clients. Liggins will serve a one-year term as commissioner of District F, which covers Southwest Michigan.
Liggins is a litigator and community ambassador whose practice consists of contractual disputes, real property litigation and construction concerns as well as criminal defense, health care issues and emergency manager matters. He is known as being an “honest broker of information” and “an engaged thought partner” by clients and colleagues as well as being passionate about helping his community.
