It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Michigan’s legislature and for Warner! Steve Palazzolo is back with a new Law Shanty episode that piggybacks on yesterday’s “Big Changes for Michigan Employers: Right-to-Work Repeal and Prevailing Wage Reinstatement” eAlert from Warner’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. In this video, Steve goes much further to break down the three bills that were signed into law on Friday afternoon by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and how employers need to react to these changes. Steve addresses the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act of 1976, House Bill 4007 and the reinstated Right-to-Work law that is slated to go into effect 91 days after the end of the current legislative session.
How can employers prepare for these changes? Steve offers insight on how employers can amend their employee handbooks, agreements and policies to remain compliant with these newly-passed laws.
