Today, MIOSHA issued its new emergency rules that rescind the emergency rules issued on May 24, 2021. The new emergency rules really only include two rules: 1) For non-health care employers there are no more emergency rules; and 2) health care employers now need to follow OSHA’s guidance. Of course, all employers still have to provide a workplace free from recognized hazards. And, don’t forget about the state law protecting employees who have a confirmed case of COVID-19, symptoms or who have come into close contact with someone who has COVID-19. In this week’s Law Shanty video, Steve Palazzolo addresses MIOSHA’s new emergency rules and ways you can still protect your business and employees as the restrictions go away.
