Warner Norcorss + Judd LLP partner Susan Gell Meyers has been honored by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as one of its 2015 “Women in the Law.”
The award will be presented to 30 leading women attorneys across the state in recognition for their contributions at a special ceremony in Troy on Sept. 10. Nominations included recognition of achievement in four areas:
Meyers’ nomination letter read, in part: “Susie has a proven record of the highest level of client service and she is a role model and key mentor for many other women attorneys within the firm and throughout Michigan. She regularly mentors new members of the firm’s Trusts & Estates Group and also has participated in the firm’s mentoring program for new associates.”
Meyers chairs the firm's Trusts & Estates Practice Group and is recognized as one of the leading attorneys in Michigan in the areas of estate and tax planning for individuals, professionals and owners of family and other closely held businesses. Meyers also focuses her practice on business succession, estate and wealth transfer planning, shareholder agreements, vacation home planning, planning for same-sex couples and estate and trust administration.
Meyers is a member of the West Michigan Estate Planning Council, the Family Business Alliance and Inforum Michigan. She serves on the Blandford Nature Center Board of Directors and is a graduate of Leadership Grand Rapids.
She has been included in Michigan Super Lawyers since 2006 and was named as one of the Top 25 Women Michigan Super Lawyers in 2014. Meyers has also been included in Best Lawyers in America since 2003.
A native of Ada, Meyers currently resides in Ada with her husband, Jeff, and children Sam and Josie.
