The Consumer Bankruptcy Association will present its annual Steven W. Rhodes Consumer Bankruptcy Conference on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, at the Somerset Inn in Troy. Elisabeth Von Eitzen, partner in Warner’s Kalamazoo office, will speak at the event alongside of industry leaders and bankruptcy judges from both the Eastern and Western District of Michigan.
Von Eitzen will participate on the “Business Issues” panel moderated by the Hon. Lisa S. Gretchko, Bankruptcy Judge for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. The panel will discuss key business bankruptcy topics that practitioners need to understand including an important discussion of “who is the client” in a business matter, differences in Chapter 7 and Subchapter V trustee roles, topics related to single member LLC’s and veil piercing.
