Richard A. Roane, partner at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been invited to return to the Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s Family Law Institute Planning Committee.
The committee develops the agenda, sets the topics and invites speakers to the annual ICLE Family Law Institute, a multi-track conference that provides attendees with critical updates as it relates to family law matters in Michigan. The event draws approximately 650 family law practitioners, judges and referees from around the state for continuing legal education programming and training. Roane previously served on the ICLE Family Law Institute Planning Committee from 2012 to 2017.
Roane focuses his practice on family law and domestic relations litigation with a concentration on divorce, LGBT family issues, arbitration and mediation, business valuation and asset allocation, child custody and support, spousal support and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
He is a member of the American Bar Association; the State Bar of Michigan, where he is founding chair of the LGBTQA Section; and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. He also is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers serving as by-laws/policies chair of the Executive Committee and on the LGBT Committee, where he was founding chair. He also serves on the LGBT Committee of the International Academy of Family Lawyers.
He recently completed a multi-year term on the ICLE Family Law Advisory Board and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Super Lawyers.
Active in the community, Roane also serves on the boards of the Grand Rapids Symphony and the Grand Rapids Community Foundation.
