Warner Norcross + Judd LLP is proud to sponsor Michigan Farm Bureau’s conference Take Root: Farm Succession and Estate Planning. The event is designed for farmers considering passing on their legacy while navigating complex tax law, large farmers looking for ideas on how to structure and grow their business and any farmer interested in completing an estate plan.
Warner Partner Danelle Harrington will offer a presentation titled “Use of Business Entities to Transfer Ownership to the Next Generation.” Having grown up on her family’s farm, Harrington is passionate about her work with farmers as part of the firm’s Agribusiness and Food Group. She has assisted many family farms in transitioning to the next generation, worked on tax reduction strategies, helped complex equipment and land acquisition deals, led client mergers and acquisition efforts and worked with co-ops on corporate governance.
The Feb. 27 event will be held at the James B. Henry Center in Lansing and begins with registration at 8:00 a.m. In addition to panel and breakout sessions, guests will hear from Jolene Brown, an Iowa-based farm consultant, in her keynote discussion “Harvest the Humor: A Celebration of Life on the Farm.”
