Justice Larsen confirmed by the Senate to sit on the Sixth Circuit

Justice Joan Larsen's meteoric rise to the state's highest court has lead to a new chapter in her fresh judicial career, as the U.S. Senate just confirmed her to fill a seat on the Sixth Circuit.  Governor Snyder appointed Justice Larsen to fill a vacancy on the Michigan Supreme Court little more than two years ago, in September of 2015.  She will be continuing her service on the Michigan Supreme Court until she receives her commission and takes the oath of office.  She will then become one of 16 active judges (plus 11 senior judges), on an intermediate appellate court that hears appeals from the federal courts in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.  Even with the short time she had on the Michigan Supreme Court, Justice Larsen made her mark.  It will be interesting to see how quickly she rises to prominence on Sixth Circuit.
