The chambers of commerce from Saginaw and Bay counties, Mt. Pleasant and the Midland Business Alliance have invited Warner Norcross + Judd LLP attorney Steve Palazzolo to lead a virtual discussion of the new minimum wage and paid sick leave laws this Thursday, Aug. 15 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Mothering Justice v. Attorney General isa major Michigan Supreme Court decision that reinstated both the Earned Sick Time Act and the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act. As a result of the court’s decision, Michigan’s minimum wage will increase, the tipped wage will be eliminated and all employers will be subject to a complicated paid leave mandate.
Palazzolo will discuss key provisions of the decision and offer insights on how Michigan businesses can become compliant by the Feb 21, 2025, implementation date.
Palazzolo has extensive and varied experience counseling clients on all aspects of the employment relationship.
