In its 30th year as Michigan's leading trade organization between Germany and the state of Michigan, the German American Business Council of Michigan hosted its annual Fall Dinner at the Detroit Athletic Club. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer provided remarks during the event that attracted dignitaries, politicians, corporate leaders and council members from both sides of the Atlantic.
Warner Norcross + Judd LLP Partner Homayune Ghaussi was among the evening’s featured speakers who discussed “Navigating transatlantic trade in times of a changing global economy.” Ghaussi was joined by:
- Michael Ahrens, consulate general of the Federal Republic of Germany.
- Kennon Carter, director and vice president of sea freight at EMO Trans.
- Arnd Herwig, vice president of engineering at Brose North America and president of the German American Business Council of Michigan.
Ghaussi practices in Warner’s Detroit office and is chair of its Supply Chain Industry Group. He focuses his practice dually, and somewhat uniquely, on both supply chain litigation and commercial contract negotiation, representing clients in complex litigation and commercial disputes, including through jury trials and arbitration hearings. He also regularly serves as transactional and contracts counsel for automotive, manufacturing and raw material suppliers throughout the U.S. and Europe, and counsels clients on the ever-changing tariff landscape.
