Brian D. Wassom, a partner with the law firm Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has earned the Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Wassom is one of the first to earn the AIGP credential after completing the rigorous exam designed to ensure that an individual can safely and ethically manage development and deployment of AI technologies. AIGP is a global certification for AI professionals who have:
- Established foundational knowledge of AI systems and their use cases, the impacts of AI and comprehension of responsible AI principles.
- Demonstrated an understanding of how current and emerging laws apply to AI systems, and how major frameworks are capable of being responsibly governed.
- Showed comprehension of the AI life cycle, the context in which AI risks are managed and the implementation of responsible AI governance.
- Presented awareness of unforeseen concerns with AI and knowledge of debated issues surrounding AI governance.
Wassom, who chairs Warner’s Emerging Media and Technologies Industry Group, has litigated groundbreaking cases involving digital media and counsels clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local businesses. He is active in the technology industry as a frequent speaker and writer who has published dozens of articles, essays and other contributions to publications, including The Hollywood Reporter, Forbes Magazine, and The Journal of Arts Management Law & Society. His book, Augmented Reality Law, Privacy and Ethics, was published by Syngress and was the first book to tackle AR legal issues.
