Employment law is ever-changing. This legal update will equip attendees to learn about recent developments and anticipated changes to employment and labor laws so they can be well-prepared for any legal challenges they may face in 2025.

Warner partner <a href="https://www.wnj.com/people/deandre-harris/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">DeAndre’ Harris</a> will provide an overview of the latest employment law updates, looking at trends and what is on the horizon for next year. He’ll provide an overview of HR compliance issues under President-elect Donald Trump, with a focus on the impact of corporate diversity, equity and inclusion programs and practices, wage and hour laws, pregnancy and disability laws and more. Harris will also look at what a second Trump term could mean for the Michigan Earned Sick Time Act, union contracts and other areas.&nbsp;

He will be joined by <a href="https://www.wnj.com/people/sarah-r-bileti/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sarah R. Bileti</a>, a senior counsel at Warner who focuses her practice on immigration law. Sarah will focus on I-9 compliance, which is expected to be especially important in 2025 with anticipated increases in workforce enforcement actions and heightened scrutiny of employment eligibility verification. Policy changes are expected for stricter immigration enforcement, along with more rigorous audits and penalties for employers who fail to comply with I-9 requirements. Sarah will discuss key trends, including increased enforcement and audits, rising penalties and fines, E-Verify and digital I-9 trends, and workforce stability and retention.
