As part of the firm’s commitment to promoting diversity in the legal profession, Warner is offering a $20,000 scholarship and summer associate position to an eligible first-year law student. &nbsp;

The scholarship will be awarded to a first-year law student in good standing <a>who shares Warner’s passion and commitment to diversity initiatives. </a>Students are asked to share a written personal statement, undergraduate and law school transcripts and a current resume for consideration. &nbsp; Applications, which are available&nbsp;<a href="https://virecruit.wnj.com/viRecruitSelfApply/ReApplicantEmail.aspx?Tag=a323b641-6921-4082-8ece-8fb5760bf08b" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here</a>, are being accepted through February 12, 2023, with the winner being notified around February 17. In addition to a $20,000 scholarship, the winner will work in one of Warner’s nine offices throughout Michigan participating in our ten-week summer associate program beginning on May 15 and ending on July 18.

“We know that helping fund the cost of law school is only part of the equation,” said <a href="/people/mark-j-wassink/">Mark Wassink</a>, managing partner of Warner.&nbsp;“By offering a summer associate position with Warner to a student who demonstrates commitment and contributions to diversity, we are trying to address the ultimate goal for most law students – gaining valuable experience working with the law firm for the summer, which hopefully leads to a full-time job with Warner after law school.”&nbsp;

<a>To be eligible for consideration, applicants may identify by race, as LGBTQIA+ or with a disability.</a>&nbsp;Applications will be reviewed by members of the firm’s Diversity, Equity + Inclusion Action Committee and Summer Associate Committee. The $20,000 scholarship will be paid over two semesters and is contingent upon the student completing a 2023 summer associate position at the firm and being in good standing and enrolled in law school at the time of payment. &nbsp; This $20,000 scholarship and employment opportunity is the newest in a series of scholarships and programs designed to promote diversity in the legal profession.
