Amanda M. Fielder, a partner with Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
The American Bar Foundation is a global honorary society of attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the highest principles of the legal profession and to the welfare of their communities. Fielder was nominated by peers and elected by the board of the ABF.
Fellows are limited to 1% of licensed lawyers in a jurisdiction. Established in 1955, Fellows support the research of the ABF through annual contributions and sponsor seminars and events of direct relevance to the legal profession.
Fielder practices in Warner’s Grand Rapids office and co-chairs the Employment Litigation Practice Group. She concentrates her work in all aspects of employment law. Passionate about her clients’ business needs and goals, Fielder has successfully defended employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge, as well as other statutory, contract and tort-related employment claims. She regularly counsels and defends clients against cases involving consumer claims and supply chain disputes, including pricing disputes, breach of warranty claims and injunction actions.
Active professionally and in the community, Fielder is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Federal Bar Association and American Bar Association. She has been named to the Rising Star list by Michigan Super Lawyers every year since 2010. She also was recognized by the Grand Rapids Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty list in 2018 and as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan. Michigan Lawyers Weekly named her an Up and Coming Lawyer in 2015 and honored her as one of the 2020 “Women in the Law.”
Fielder serves as board chair of Solutions to End Exploitation and is a board member for Children’s Advocacy Center. She also is on the advisory council for Inner City Christian Federation. She is a graduate of Leadership West Michigan and Leadership Grand Rapids. Fielder chaired Warner’s Building Committee, which managed all aspects of the firm’s design, buildout and 2019 move into its 80,000 square-foot office building in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. She served on the firm’s Management Committee from 2018-2021.
She earned a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Western Michigan University and a law degree magna cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law.
