Affordable Care Act: Responsibilities for Cannabis Employers

In this issue of Warner’s Legal News for the Cannabis Industry, Warner employee benefits attorney Stephanie Grant discusses the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) requirements for applicable large employers to offer affordable health insurance to full-time equivalent employees. Employers who fall into this category must have 50 or more full-time employees – and Stephanie forewarns that employees of any related entities are included in that count. She offers insight into how you can determine if you fit the “applicable large employer” category, how to calculate the affordability requirement and which forms employers must file annually with the IRS to demonstrate compliance with the ACA.
