Warner Norcross + Judd LLP was a sponsor for and Partner Shane Hansen spoke at the 2023 ACG Detroit event Congress Codifies M&amp;A Broker Exemption: Clarity Brings New Opportunities on April 26, 20232. Congress finally exempted M&amp;A advisors, consultants and business brokers (M&amp;A brokers) from registration as a broker-dealer in private company M&amp;A transactions, effective March 29, 2023. This change in federal law clarifies and widens the scope of M&amp;A professional services supporting private company M&amp;A transactions and their resulting deal flow.

Attendees learned about the new federal M&amp;A broker registration exemption and opportunities for compensated referrals and deeper collaboration among M&amp;A brokers, PE/VC firms, commercial lenders, CPAs, attorneys and other M&amp;A professionals.
