As Warner Norcross + Judd’s director of finance, Kyle Purdy oversees the firm’s accounting department and manages processes and personnel along with the functional responsibilities of billing and collection, payroll, day-to-day accounting and financial reporting.

Kyle cut his teeth in the banking sector, but his natural affinity for numbers and exceptional client service led him to pursue accounting. He became the vice president and controller for a regional financial institution and then served as the assurance director for a national accounting conglomerate – overseeing a team of 30+ employees that provided resources to client engagement teams and managed audit teams for corporate clients across a wide spectrum of industries. Ultimately, that experience led him to his role as partner and shareholder with a CPA firm where he developed extensive executive leadership skills across finance, human resources, IT and administration – making him uniquely qualified as director of finance at one of Michigan’s preeminent law firms.

Kyle is exceptionally well rounded and atypical for a director of finance or CPA in that he likes numbers, but his true passion is in developing people and teams and the processes that support the work they do. Kyle is a certified public accountant and is a member of the Association of International Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of CPAs, and former member of the Michigan Bankers Association and CFO Forum. Additionally, he donates his time and talents to Michigan Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Junior Achievement, the United Way, Habitat for Humanity and various Grand Valley State University programs.
