I grew up working in my family’s small business in the “Thumb” of Michigan, where I learned that a dedicated work ethic isn’t just about achieving success — it’s a service to the community. Reflecting on how my family’s business made a positive impact in the place they lived and raised their family, I became inspired to help business owners like them grow their impact and preserve their legacy. This background fuels my commitment to advising closely held businesses and family-owned enterprises, helping them navigate complex legal and tax issues, implement effective succession planning and structure their trusts and estates. My goal is to provide these business owners with the strategies and support they need to protect their hard-earned success and ensure that their contributions to the community continue for generations to come.

Within his trusts and estates practice, Josh helps clients structure their estates by designing estate plans, trusts, wills, and tax strategies to safeguard their assets, protect their privacy and ensure a seamless transfer of wealth to future generations. His approach combines strategic foresight and personalized planning, enabling clients to protect and achieve their long-term financial goals with confidence.

Before beginning his legal career, Josh served seven years in the United States Marine Corps, where he directed and executed military logistics operations during deployments to Afghanistan, Haiti and the Mediterranean. His experience in the Marines instilled in him a profound sense of discipline, resilience and strategic thinking. These qualities continue to shape his approach to legal practice, allowing him to tackle challenging situations with precision and focus. His military background provides him with a unique perspective, enabling him to support his clients with the same dedication and commitment he brought to his service.

Josh also brings four years of professional experience in supply chain management, having worked on-site at a food ingredient manufacturing plant. In this role, he was responsible for orchestrating complicated manufacturing processes to ensure timely order shipments, directly leading initiatives on and off the plant floor to reduce delays and improve operational efficiency. This experience equips him with valuable insights into the operational challenges that many clients face, allowing him to provide solutions that are both strategic and grounded in real-world application.

Josh holds a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law, where he served as the executive editor of the Michigan State Law Review. He also received the Jurisprudence Achievement Award for highest grade in research, writing and analysis and in law and interpretation. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwood University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in supply chain management, summa cum laude, from Saginaw Valley State University.
