Douglas E. Wagner has been re-elected Managing Partner of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP.
Wagner, who concentrates his practice in litigation, will serve a second two-year term as Managing Partner of the Firm, which has more than 200 attorneys practicing in offices in Grand Rapids, Southfield, Holland, Lansing and Muskegon. Wagner chairs the Firm's Management Committee and guides the strategic direction and growth of Warner Norcross, which is the largest law firm in West Michigan and one of the largest in the state.
Under his leadership, Warner Norcross:
Has added more than 20 new attorneys, an increase of 10 percent
Opened a new office in Lansing
Added new practice areas, including government affairs, minority- and women-owned businesses, entertainment and others
Secured significant new clients and expanded relationships with longtime clients, serving as National Business Litigation Counsel for Whirlpool
Strengthened its diversity efforts, appointing a Diversity Partner and committing more resources to promote inclusiveness in the legal profession
Focused its Automotive Practice Group to concentrate solely on supplier issues
Wagner joined Warner Norcross in 1977 and is the past chair of the Litigation Practice Group. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Wagner is also recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America for Business Litigation.
He is a member of the Federal Bar Association and a past president of the chapter for the Western District of Michigan. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. He teaches and lectures widely on trial techniques and advocacy issues for organizations such as the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, Emory University School of Law and the Hillman Advocacy Program.
Wagner received his doctor of jurisprudence magna cum laude from Wayne State University Law School and holds an undergraduate degree from Albion College.
