Two Warner Norcross Attorneys Complete Estate Planning Certifications

8/24/2005

Two attorneys with Warner Norcross & Judd LLP have recently completed a certification program in the areas of probate and estate planning.

Amie L. Vanover and Todd W. Simpson, who both concentrate their practices in trusts and estates planning and administration, received their certificates from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Probate & Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Certification demonstrates their in-depth study of estate planning and administration, including estate tax returns, post-death tax plans, trusts, contested proceedings and other areas.

Vanover joined the Firm in 2001 and practices in its Grand Rapids office. Active professionally, she serves on the steering committee of Leave a Legacy West Michigan and is a member of the National Committee on Planned Giving, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, West Michigan Planned Giving Group and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.

She is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan and the Grand Rapids Bar Association, where she is a past secretary for the Young Lawyers Section.

A native of Bethel, Ohio, Vanover holds a bachelor's degree summa cum laude from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, and a doctor of jurisprudence from The Ohio State University, where she was managing editor of the Ohio State Law Journal and Order of the Coif.

Simpson joined the Firm in 2002 and practices in its Grand Rapids office. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan and the Grand Rapids Bar Association.

A native of Kalamazoo, Simpson holds a bachelor's degree with distinction from the University of Michigan and a doctor of jurisprudence magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was Order of the Coif.
